      Hello Stacey,

I am very happy that you are fascinated about this subject as it is a subject that is very close to my heart, the reason why I started this research was because my best friends mother contracted breast cancer a few years ago and was given the all clear, a few years later she was diagnosed with breast cancer again so I decided to research about this. Before I mention the side effects I will give you a brief explanation of how Chemotherapy or Chemo works. Chemotherapy as the name suggests Chemo – Chemical, Therapy therefore is the use of chemicals in the human body. Many different chemicals are injected into a vein of the patient or by use of a drip. The chemicals are then carried around in the blood to the cancerous cells, the chemicals then stop the cancer cells when they are dividing, unfortunately it has no effect on cancer cells which are in the ‘resting’ non dividing stage. This is why a few sessions of Chemo are needed so that the chemicals can then stop the resting cells when they decide to divide. The problems with these chemicals are that if they can kill cancer cells what other cells can they affect. So far Chemotherapy has been known to reduce the amount of white blood cells (your immune system), red blood cells (the cells which carry oxygen, so a lack of oxygen in your body), the chemicals can make you sick, affect the reproductive organs so the chances of having a baby are reduced and the most common side affect which is hair thinning or hair falling out.

Hopefully these side affects should be enough to answer the reason why I am determined to find a non chemical cure.

      Hope this answers your question.
