I was there in spirit (- i’m not going to say which side I was on!). But if I was there as an investigator I would be very professional and i would investigate it as if it was anyone else as all shooting incidents are very serious crimes. As in any crime scene situation you put your emotional response to a crime to one side and record your observations carefully and consider all possible scenarios – otherwise you couldn’t do your job properly. I teach shooting (firearm) scene reconstructions here at the university so I should have been able to give some advice on this one I think!

Can’t say that I was… if I was, I would have raided their laboratories and borrowed all the amzaing equipment that they have there, that can get positive fingerprint and DNA results in a couple of seconds…. as they don’t seem to be available on the open market yet…. or is it because they haven’t been developed yet…hmmmm 😉

I stopped watching CSI a long time ago when they worked out DNA profiles within seconds, this sense of unrealise put me off watching the show. If I was there when Justin Bieber was shot I would have dealt with the situation professionally, as I was taught that each case should have no emotinal connections as this is when you can become forgetful.

Sorry, I didn’t see this one. I do love CSI (especially the Vegas one), even though it is full of mistakes. I think that it is programs like CSI that make kids want to be forensic scientists and crime scene investigators, and that is no bad thing! 🙂

No, I didn’t see that episode. I’ve not watched CSI in a long time. I’ve watched it in the past, I like some of the characters, and I agree that the programmes do spark an interest in forensic science, but I think the programme presents what we do in a very unrealistic way, so I eventually stopped watching.
