I put on my profile that I wanted to be a computer programmer when I was in school… but I would have liked to be an athlete if I could pick anything.. I represented the school, county and Wales in athletics and would have loved to be competing in London 2012… although I would be on the verge of retiring at the grand old age of 35 🙂
Hi Tucker2011,
If I hadn’t done forensic science, I would have liked to research into sleep disorders. If I hadn’t been a scientist, I think a writer. I think everyone has a good novel inside them, and it just takes the right impetus and dedication to get it out on paper. I have started to write a novel, and if I wasn’t a scientist, I’d love to write books and get paid for it.
Hi Tucker2011,
I liked your question and it got me thinking…… I think I would liked to have been a mountain guide taking people around the high places of the world – it is one of my favourite things to do when I am out of the lab –
if it was another type of scientist I would be a marine biologist or an ecologist. I couldn’t actually imagine being anything else than a scientist – I love it!
If I had never got interested in forensic science I think it would have definitely gone into graphic design, I am a very creative person so this would have been a fantastic route to go.
I used to be a freelance web and logo designer so I would have followed this through if I was not so passionate in science.
This is a really hard question! Science is my passion, and I can’t imagine not being a scientist. Like Anna, I also love writing and I dabble with writing crime fiction. I’d love to get paid to do that. However, one other thing I really love is snooker, and I’m not too bad at it either! So, if I couldn’t be a scientist, I’d love to be a professional snooker player, and play at The Crucible in Sheffield.
