  There’s been a lot on the news recently about various predictions that the world will end and when. I don’t think many of these predictions are based on any kind of science, so no, I don’t think the world will end next year.
  
  I do, however, think that the evidence is clear that humans in general are doing a lot of damage to the planet, and it’s very likely that, if we don’t start to change the way we live soon, that damage will be irreparable and may result in the earth no longer being able to support life. I don’t know enough about it to say when that might happen, but I don’t think it’s as soon as next year.
